Carbon
Monoxide levels
in the breath can
now be measured
simply by using
the battery operated
Vitalograph BreathCO
monitor. The digital
display shows parts
per million from
a single breath
which correlates
directly to levels
of Carboxyhemoglobin
(COHb) in the blood.
Applications
for the inexpensive
device are in smoking
cessation classes,
where it has proved
particularly successful,
as well as in emergency
rooms and fire departments
for the rapid screening
of possible CO poison
victims.
